Not long ago we received an enquiry for the translation of Romanian degree certificate for our client who was applying to register for work with the General Dental Council (GDC). We work regularly for clients applying to the General Medical Council (GMC) as well as for the GDC, so we are familiar with their application process and were happy to help.

For application to the GDC a certified translation is required. A certified translation is one in which we provide stamps and a certificate to state that we have provided a true and accurate translation which was carried out by a qualified professional. As we are a member of the Association of Translation Companies (ATC), our certified translations are accepted by all official UK bodies, such as the Home Office, Passport Office and Primary Care Trusts as well as many authorities abroad.

We looked at the document and were happy to confirm that the cost of a certified translation from Romanian would be £76. This price includes VAT, certification and first class postage. Payment can be made over the phone by credit card (£4.00 charge), UK debit card (no charge), by UK cheque or postal order made payable to ‘TransAction Translators Ltd‘, by bank transfer, www.paypal.co.uk (£4.00) and www.moneybookers.co.uk (£1.50).

At TransAction we are transparent about our pricing policy, letting you know immediately what the total cost of your project will be. This is as opposed to quoting an initial price and then adding extra costs on for VAT, certification, postage or payment charges.

Once we had received the go ahead and payment we proceeded with the translation. Once the translation was complete it was checked twice in-house by our qualified linguists. Again, these two proofreading checks are included in the price of your translation. They ensure a level of accuracy and quality for which other companies may charge extra. As the slightest mistake can make the difference between a successful or unsuccessful application, we feel these checks are important and are happy to include them as standard and with no extra charge.

Once the translation had passed our stringent checks we emailed it to the client for their approval. Once this was received we added our stamps and declaration and sent it out. The time from the client’s initial enquiry to us sending out the finished translation was four working days.
