Mr Duden (named changed for confidentiality of course) sent us an enquiry through our website. Mr Duden is a German national residing in the UK and he and his wife (a Peruvian national) were married in Peru. He required a certified translation (also referred to as an official translation) of their marriage certificate from Spanish to support his wife’s naturalisation application to the Home Office.
When Mr Duden contacted us through our website he uploaded a scan of his marriage certificate. We were able to assess the document and email Mr Duden a quote for a certified translation into English the same day. In the quote email we detailed the payment options available.
Mr Duden wanted to pay by Paypal and so we emailed him the details accordingly (please note that to there is a £4 administration fee for payments via Paypal). We received an automatic notification from Paypal to confirm that the payment had been received and, as requested, Mr Duden emailed us his contact details. In order to proceed with the translation we required Mr Duden’s home address, however, he required the translation to be delivered to another address so he provided this address in addition to his address and telephone number.
As the document was needed urgently Mr Duden was having the translation sent by Special Delivery postage, which requires a signature. As he knew that he would be out on the delivery date, he gave us his work address so that he would be sure to receive the translation as soon as possible. We are always happy to deliver to an alternative address if clients inform us of this requirement.
The next day we were able to send Mr Duden an electronic version of the translation for his approval. Mr Duden emailed us the next day having read through the translation. He had noticed that a letter had been omitted from the spelling of one of the witnesses’ names on the Peruvian certificate. We amended the translation to reflect that the mistake had been made on the original certificate (a common occurrence!) and were able to issue the certified translation the same day.
If you require a certified translation of your wedding certificate, you can get in touch with us through our website, by email to transaction@transaction.co.uk, or by telephone on 0114 266 1103. We look forward to hearing from you!
